‘Buong Pilipinas, masaya!’ declares Ginebra superstar Mark Caguioa

It’s a fiesta for Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

Superstar guard Mark Caguioa knows that better than anybody else, as the Gin Kings booked their first finals appearance in two years on Sunday night with a Commissioner’s Cup semifinals Game Five victory over Talk ‘N Text.

“Kapag nananalo Ginebra, buong Pilipinas masaya,” Caguioa told InterAKTV.

He had a cameo in the victory, seeing action in the dying seconds to the delight of the mammoth crowd of 21,408. The pro-Ginebra crowd serenaded him with chants of “M-V-P!” as he stepped to the line for two free throws, his only points of the game.

“It was more like a relief for me,” said Caguioa. “That’s why when the game ended, I held the ball in my hand until the final buzzer sounded, as if saying this is for you guys.”
