Against powerhouse Talk ‘N Text, LA Tenorio calls on Ginebra fans to act as sixth man for Gin Kings

Even after defeating the second-seed Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the quarterfinals, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel again finds itself the underdog in the Commissioner’s Cup final four against Talk ‘N Text, the most successful PBA team of the last few years.

Ginebra star point guard LA Tenorio knows this, and implored on the team’s legions of fans to come out and continute to inspire the team.

“Nananawagan kami sa mga taga-Barangay to continuously support us. Kailangang-kailangan namin ng suporta nila lalo na malakas ang kalaban namin, which is Talk ‘N Text,” added Tenorio.

“Sa inyo kami kumukuha ng lakas at dahil sa inyo, lalo kaming ginaganahan.”

Beyond fan support, Tenorio said the Gin Kings need to band together to pull off another upset against the Tropang Texters.

“When Mark Caguioa got injured, I told my teammates that things happened for a reason and isa na rito yung mabigyan yung ibang players ng pagkakataon at kumpiyansa,” said Tenorio.

“Dati, ang tendency namin when Mark was still playing is to give the ball to our best player. Now, mas nagkaroon ng kumpiyansa yung ibang players. Gumanda bigla ang laro nina Jayjay (Helterbrand) and Kerby (Raymundo), pati yung ibang locals nag-step up rin.”

However, Tenorio said that the team still dedicates its performance for Caguioa, who is still nursing a knee injury.

“Every game, lagi naming sinasabi na para na rin kay Mark itong mga panalo namin dahil nilagay niya kami sa magandang posisyon at kaya naman kami nakarating dito dahil na rin sa tulong niya,” said Tenorio.
