BARANGAY GINEBRA WINS AGAIN

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel continued its rise up the PBA Commissioner’s Cup ladder, hacking out a 107-100 win over Talk n Text before a big Sunday crowd at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The erstwhile cellardweller Kings, who notched their first back-to-back wins this conference, moved up to joint seventh with Barako Bull at 3-5.

Ginebra kept the Tropang Texters silent for two and a half minutes in the fateful fourth period to pad its slim 92-89 edge to 98-89 with 3:37 to go.

TNT then went to Jimmy Alapag, whose booming triples kept the Texters within striking distance, but timely hits by Vernon Macklin and Chris Ellis kept Talk n Text at bay until the final buzzer.

Caguioa led Ginebra with 28 points. Macklin and Tenorio added 24 and 20 markers, respectively.

Donnell Harvey and Alapag scored 23 points apiece to pace the Texters, who slid to 4-4 in a tie with idle San Mig Coffee and Meralco at fourth.
