BARANGAY GINEBRA FINALLY NAILS ONE
Barangay Ginebra San Miguel whipped Barako Bull, 93-72, to finally break into the win column of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Wednesday.
The win was the first in five assignments for the Kings, who remained at the botom of the 10-team pack.
Ginebra got off to a fast start, taking advantage of the Energy Colas’ miscues and bungled offensive thrusts. The Kings were up 21-11 after the first period and never looked back.
Midway through the final period, Ginebra was up 84-56.
Mark Caguioa topscored for the Kings with 23 points.
Vernon Macklin had 21 points and 14 rebounds.
Barako Bull, which dropped to fourth spot with a 3-2 card, was led by Evan Brock’s 16 points and 14 rebounds.
