Trade should be Ginebra's last option for now, says Sauler
Assistant coach Juno Sauler bared that Ginebra should find the answer to their woeful 0-4 start within themselves.
MANILA - Barangay Ginebra San Miguel maybe at the cellar of the team standings but for the team’s coaching staff entering a trade is not an option at this time.
Speaking to Solar Sports Desk, assistant coach Juno Sauler bared that Ginebra should find the answer to their woeful 0-4 start within themselves.
“Hindi yun yung answer eh. Kung may trade na naman, panibagong adjustment na naman,” said Sauler, the team’s longtime chief scout and video researcher.
“Pag laging ganun (trade) ang solusyun mas mahihirapan ang team, yung players. As much as possible we want to stick with the team,” he added.
Right now, even Rain or Shine hotshot Jeff Chan, who from outside looking in, thinks that the Gin Kings should start with their locals stepping up.
The wily national team streak-shooter said that Ginebra lacked the cohesion and team play in its first four games.
“Nagkanya-kanya sila. Pansin ko ha. Pero I’m sure, mag-a-adjust ang Ginebra. Isa pa rin sila sa mga teams na nakakatakot ngayong Commissioner’s Cup,” declared the Bacolodnon pride, who is a product of coach Yeng Guiao’s team-based offensive flow.
Chan bared that he has long been a big fan of Ginebra as legendary high-flyer Vergel Meneses was his childhood idol.
“Bata pa lang ako, nasusubaybayan ko na ang Ginebra, favourite ko talaga nun si Vergel, pati rin yung Bal David-Marlou Aquino tandem nuong high school ako,” he added.
“Sana makarecover sila, kasi maganda na rin ang ipinapakita nung ibang teams,” Chan said.
The Gin Kings will hope to arrest a winless campaign in the 3-week old tourney as they go up against the Barako Bull Energy Cola, Wednesday night.

Like Sunday, Macapagal, Tubid, Jarencio, Hizon and Lago...
