NO TOMORROW - Ginebra, B-Meg Clash For Finals

It’s payback time for Barangay Ginebra.

Last conference when B-Meg played Ginebra in a best-of-five semifinal showdown, the Llamados knocked out a Mark Caguioa-less Kings in four games as the prolific guard was out due to a fractured right eye socket.

B-Meg went on to capture the Commissioner’s Cup title, while Caguioa had to settle for an individual trophy as he won the Best Player of the Conference.

But with Caguioa back in sharp form, the Kings are hell-bent to exact revenge when they collide in a ‘must see’ knockout encounter for the last finals berth in the PBA Governors’ Cup today at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

The lone game between the Kings and the Llamados is set at 6:45 p.m.

The winner will earn the right to face ‘‘first-timer’’ Rain or Shine in the finals starting Sunday.

The ROS Painters claimed the first championship berth following a 92-82 victory over B-Meg Wednesday night.

Even with the setback, all is not lost for B-Meg as it still has a chance to make the finals for a second straight time after bagging the Commissioner’s Cup – and 23rd overall in team history – as it tied Ginebra for the second-best record at the end of semifinals at 9-5.

The Painters finished with the best record at 10-4, 8-1 in the eliminations and 2-3 in the semis.

The Kings forced a do-or-die match with the Llamados after surviving their first KO game against the Tropang Texters of Talk ’N Text, scoring a thrilling 73-71 victory.
