KERBY Raymundo, one of the best frontliners of powerhouse B-MEG, is now joining the league’s most popular team.
JC Intal, the high-flying, former Ateneo swingman, will bring his offensive expertise to the Llamados of coach Tim Cone starting today.
B-MEG coach Tim Cone and Raymundo’s manager Danny Espiritu told Manila Standard that they were advised to attend the practice of their expected new teams this weekend, even though the trade has yet to be approved by Philippine Basketball Association commissioner Chito Salud.
“JC Intal will be joining us tomorrow (Friday),” confirmed Cone in a text message. “There are no players aside from Intal, who will join us, but there may be some draft considerations in the deal.”
Espiritu, who handles Raymundo ever since he started playing in the PBA 12 years ago, also confirmed that his ward called him up to let him know of the management’s advise.
“OK na trade ni Kerby, tinawagan niya ako kanina and sinabi na hindi na siya pinagpa-practice sa B-MEG,” added Espiritu.
The other details of the three-way, multi-player trade involving sister teams B-MEG and Ginebra and conduit Barako Bull have yet to be finalized, but multiple sources said former Smart-Gilas standout Dylan Ababou of Barako, veteran Ronald Tubid, John Wilson and rookie Reil Cervantes of Ginebra are also included in the package.
Ababou is reportedly headed to Ginebra, while Tubid, Wilson and Cervantes are likely going to Barako Bull.
