Doc confirms MCL sprain but Caguioa expected to be back in time for new season
An MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan done on Mark Caguioa's right knee showed the MCL sprain wasn't as bad as the injury he suffered on his left knee that kept him out for two months during the season. Jerome Ascano
THE bad news: Doctors have confirmed that Mark Caguioa has suffered a mild sprain on the MCL (medial colateral ligament) on his right knee.
The good news: Ginebra expects him to be back in action when the 2013-2014 season starts in November.
Barangay Ginebra fans can heave a collective sigh of relief as an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan done on Caguioa's right knee showed the MCL sprain wasn't as bad as the injury he suffered on his left knee that kept him out for two months during the season.

According to Ginebra board representative Robert Non, Caguioa's latest injury is closer to the knee ligament strain that hit new teammate Japeth Aguilar early in the PBA Governors Cup.
“MCL nga, pero yung kagaya lang nung kay Japeth (Aguilar). Di naman siya katulad ng dati,” Non told Spin.ph after learning of the result of the MRI done on Caguioa's knee by top orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jose Raul Canlas on Friday.
Non said Caguioa has been advised to sit out four to six weeks, enhancing the chances of the franchise player rejoining Ginebra in time for the start of the next season on November 17.
On Thursday night, Caguioa fell awkwardly just as he was about to take a pass from teammate Jayjay Helterbrand at the 8:15 mark of the second period of Ginebra’s 94-101 quarterfinal loss to Petron.
He suffered the same injury during the Commissioner's Cup, sitting out two months before returning in time for the title series which Ginebra lost to Alaska.

Non said that knowing Caguioa’s discipline, Ginebra fans can expect to see the popular player back in action come the opening of the new season.
“Almost two months pa naman so may time pa siya mag-recover. Masinop naman siya (Caguioa). So he’ll be available na by the All-Filipino conference,” added Non, who is also the current league chairman.

This guy has talent at kailangan nya lang talaga magkaroon ng matinding kumpiyansa.
