Barangay Ginebra Aim to Keep Rampage on Against Miserable Barako Bull
WHAT THIS GAME MEANS:
It’s either both streaks will live on or die.
For BGSM this game is about staying on their hot streak. They beat two very tough teams in their last two games so they should go into this game oozing with confidence against a Barako Bull team that has lost six in a row. Will Mark Caguioa continue to become the Mompo? Will he drop another 20-point game?
For Barako Bull this game is everything. There should be no moral victories for them at this point. So if they play well the whole game and lose at the end, they won’t be able to take anything positive from it. It’s win or get closer to the edge of the cliff.
WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR:
Rajko Toroman’s strategy to limit Mark Caguioa.
MC47 is on a tear and it’s becoming clearer that in order to beat Ginebra this conference, you should limit their best player because aside from him, there’s nobody else to lead their offensive attack. So it would be interesting to see if Toroman will focus on stopping Caguioa.
WHO TO WATCH OUT FOR:
Of course Mark Caguioa. Sino pa?
Caguioa has reached a level of play no other player has reached since Gary David did back in Powerade’s Cinderella run. It’s pretty sure that the target on his back has been getting larger every game. It’s up to him and Coach Alfrancis Chua to look for other ways to be effective in the event that Mompo gets shut down.
