Tenorio treats win against San Mig Coffee as big morale booster
MANILA - Veteran guard LA Tenorio knows how big their win was against San Mig Coffee last night.
"Malaking bagay yung panalo namin para maka-angat kami sa team standings," said Barangay Ginebra's chief playmaker in an interview with Solar Sports Desk.
"Mahirap malubog eh. Hopefully, madala namin yung win against San Mig sa mga games na darating pa."
The team has climbed out of the cellar and improved their record to two wins and five losses following their 96-88 conquest of theCommissioner's Cup defending champions.
"Napakalaking bagay talaga nun para sa morale ng team," added Tenorio, who was named as the Best Player of the Game.
Asked if they will go for back-to-back wins when they face Talk 'N Text on Match 17, Tenorio stated: "Dapat yun yung mentality namin going into the game. We have to be confident sa lahat ng gagawin namin coming into Sunday's game."
The three-time PBA All-Star also bared that he and import Vernon Macklin are starting to build good chemistry on the floor.
"Nagbabasahan lang kami sa court. And in practice, ginagawan namin talaga yun," said Tenorio, who has averaged 11.5 assists per game for Ginebra in their last two outings. "Marunong din kasi magbasa ng bola (si Macklin). And malaki siya, so minsan kahit yung pasa ko medyo alangan nakukuwa pa rin niya."
Tenorio also shared to Solar Sports Desk that the issue of fatigue does not bother him, even though he is splitting his time with his mother club and with the Gilas-Pilipinas national pool.
"Pahinga lang and tamang time management. Kung may time na magpahinga, nagpapahinga pa rin naman talaga ako," said Tenorio, who is logging 38 minutes per game for Ginebra this conference.
