Ginebra, Petron try to rebound from losing skids; Meralco battles Air 21
Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and Petron Blaze both try to snap two-game losing streaks when they face off Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena as the PBA Philippine Cup continues.
The Gin Kings and the Boosters do battle at 6:30 p.m. after the duel between the Meralco Bolts and the Air 21 Express in the opening game at 4 p.m.
Petron and Ginebra will be on quick turnaround in the main matchup after both seeing action last Friday. The Boosters are coming off a heartbreaking 88-86 loss to the Alaska Aces, while the Gin Kings succumbed to the Barako Bull Energy Colas, 92-82.
The powerhouse Petron squad has been in disarray, with star forward venting his disappointment after the team’s third loss in four games.
“Kulang kami sa puso,” Santos told InterAKTV in an exclusive interview. “Mayroong mga maliliit na bagay pero importante na hindi namin nagagawa.”
Ginebra, meanwhile, has dropped its last two games after winning its first two assignments in impressive fashion.
In the first game, the Bolts will try to rebound after its one-point loss to GlobalPort last Wednesday.
The MOA Arena has a bit of a stigma for members of Meralco, who were the victims of theft in their locker room in the first half of their game against the Batang Pier.
Air 21, meanwhile, will try to snap a two-game losing streak.
