FEELING MAJOR PAIN


As a longtime fan of the PBA I surely feel for big man Erik Menk, aka "Major Pain" for the manner he "punished" opponents. Started his career as a powerhouse in the late ’90s and punctuated by an MVP award in 2005, he has seen his stock in the PBA go down no thanks to numerous injuries and coming to face Father Time. As of this writing, his mother ball club Ginebra has yet to renew his contract, which understandably has left him frustrated. Varying reports either have him being signed to play for the San Miguel team in the ASEAN Basketball League or as part of Ginebra’s coaching staff but on standby as a player in case someone gets injured. Regardless of where he ends up, whether in the ABL or the PBA, Menk just has to continue working hard. He is and will always be Major Pain in many PBA fans’ book.
