No trades, no in-fighting says Ginebra manager Chua

Barangay Ginebra will not be making any trades soon, nor is there any truth to rumors of fighting among players, team manager Alfrancis Chua said, Wednesday via his Twitter account.
 

“Again, walang trade saka walang nag away sa team kasi ba 3-5 standing may nag aaway na.” Chua said in a pair of tweets. “Mga haters ng ginebra saka mga walang magawa gumagawa ng gull para may mapag usapan lang.”

Ginebra’s record of 3-5 (eighth place) is a far cry from their league-best 11-3 record in the 2013-14 Philippine Cup, but their place in the quarterfinals has been secured, and last season, they made it all the way to the Finals despite placing seventh.

The team has struggled to incorporate their twin towers of Japeth Aguilar and Greg Slaughter with their import, a task made more difficult by the fact that they are about to tap a third reinforcement, reportedly, PBA veteran Gabe Freeman. The team’s previously import, Josh Powell, left to pursue a stint in the NBA.

Ginebra still has one more game in their schedule, against Philippine Cup finalists Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.  - AMD, GMA News
