PBA bares new MVP criteria

Manila, Philippines – A new criteria will be implemented this season by the PBA with regards to the selection of the top individual honors which includes the coveted Most Valuable Player award.

In a memo, the league said it will put more emphasis on statistical points and player votes while retaining the percentage of the votes from the media and the Commissioner’s Office.

The statistical points have been increased to 40 percent while hiking the player votes to 25 percent.

Votes from the media and the Commissioner’s Office were retained to 30 and five percent, respectively.

Last season, the criteria for the awards were determined by the following: 30 percent for statistical points, 30 percent from media votes, 20 for player votes, 10 percent from the television carrier and five percent from the Commissioner’s Office.

Controversy arose following the selection of Talk N’ Text’s Jimmy Alapag as last season’s MVP. Alapag bested Petron’s Arwind Santos and Ginebra’s Mark Caguioa.

ngayon nila pinalitan kong kailan maaga nagbakasyon ang ginebra at mejo mababa performance ni mc. laki pa naman percentage ng all pinoy cup,

Oo nga sana wala nalang media vote tutal di naman scripted ang mga laro though may drama pero natural naman. Walang arte o anu. Sana binago nila yung lubusan na.

:masaya: kahit naman walang media sikat parin ang nag iisang team ng PBA eh at saka di naman sila ang nagbabayad ng commercials ng mga team. Andun din sila para kumita hindi for fun lang
