Barangay Ginebra San Miguel superstar Mark Caguioa has missed the last eight games for his team in the Commissioner’s Cup, but his presence is still felt by the rest of his Gin Kings teammates.
According to coach Alfrancis Chua, the reigning Most Valuable Player has found a way to contribute to the team.
“Mark is doing a good job motivating the players,” said Chua.
“He’s always there in practice, shooting around.”
Caguioa showed up early at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum on Friday, hours before Ginebra’s Game One victory over Talk ‘N Text. He shot around along with the rest of his teammates.
Even though his knee injury prevented him from playing once more, Caguioa was a big presence on the Ginebra bench. Late in Ginebra’s rout, the Gin Kings’ faithful even chanted his name.
Chua, however, remains open to a return from the Spark.
“I still need Mark Caguioa,” said Chua.

i think it's better to keep him from the bench than to force him to play in this series against tnt... we badly needed him in the finals if we manage to beat a dangerous tnt this semis series... pero kung kelangan talaga maglaro si mark, kelangan na sya papasukin kahit hindi pa 100 percent... pero kung kaya naman ng team... wag muna isugal ang health condition ni idol...
