AFTER being his team’s chief cheerleader for the past three games, injured Ginebra star Mark Caguioa now knows it's not easy being a fan - a diehard fan at that.
Sidelined for the past two weeks by an MCL sprain on his left knee, the charismatic scoring leader disclosed that he has been having headaches after every game because of too much shouting.
“I got a headache … a really bad headache,” said Caguioa with a laugh. “Mas ninenerbyos nga ako pag nanonood ako, ayokong manood eh, so now ang sakit ng ulo ko sa kakasigaw."
Now he knows how fans feel while cheering from the stands, said the reigning league MVP.
“I now realized how the fans are (when they are cheering for us), parang ako yun eh,” added the 34-year-old superstar. “Hindi ako mapakali pag pinapanood ko sila (yung teammates ko), ang hirap… mas mahirap pala (ang maging fan).”
Caguioa revealed that his injury is progressing positively, in fact his recovery is a lot faster than the last time he suffered the same injury. But he has no target date for his return.
“Matagal yung last MCL ko, mga lagpas one month. Eight weeks ganun?” recalled Caguioa. “Hopefully (itong injury ngayon) hindi ganun katagal”.
