Rain or Shine and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel clash in a do-or-die Sunday for the last semifinal seat of the 2013 PBA Philippine Cup at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.
The Elasto Painters failed to sweep the Kings after surrendering a 79-77 decision in Game Two last Friday that leads to a knockout Game Three at 5 p.m.
The winner of their battle will get the right to meet the No. 2 San Mig Coffee in a best-of-seven semifinals series.
“We are far from having done anything. Naibalik lang namin sa 0-0 so it’s gonna boil down to Sunday’s game,” said Ginebra coach Siot Tanquingcen.
“Kailangan yung focus at concentration nandoon. Patay kung patay,” he added.
Unlike in their 82-65 loss in Game One, Tanquingcen said the Gin Kings played with intensity to stay alive in the series.
But he knows that Rain or Shine will remain a tough nut to crack in Game Three.
“Rain or Shine is a tough, tough team. Kaya yung mental aspect dapat mas kalmado,” said Tanquingcen.
Despite the loss, Elasto Painters coach Yeng Guiao remains upbeat about reaching the semifinal stage.
“I have the utmost confidence in my team. These guys are tough and they know how to handle setbacks. We’re still very positive about our chances,” he said.
