GINEBRA, RAIN OR SHINE FIGHT FOR SEMIS SPOT

Post by Ginebra Tambayan on Sat Dec 15, 2012 10:19 pm

WHAT THIS GAME MEANS

This game means a lot of things. It means a semis berth. It means a bonus for the players going into the Christmas season. It means San Mig Coffee will know who they up against in the best-of-seven series. There is just so much on the line. You can throw out the stats, shred up them records, and sit back for a dog fight.

Rain or Shine want to show the rest of the league that their championship contender status is no fluke. They want to prove that they are already deserving to be in the same level of Talk N Text and SMC. Teams that are an instant threat for the title. And to do so, they need to take out the Kings.

This is what Ginebra fans live for. Never Say Die. This is in the character of the team. It seems that they perform its best when they have so much to lose. Well, here we are again. Ginebra’s Philippine Cup title hopes on the line. A championship that they haven’t won in six years. Do they have another miracle under their sleeve?

WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR

The physicality from the Extra Rice boys. This game is going to get physical. With desperation and the chance of going home early, players are going to be a little more brutal out there. Ginebra isn’t going to roll over. Rain or Shine is not going to give an inch. This is where the boys are separated from the men.

Can the Kings keep up with the likes of Ryan Araña, Ronnie Matias, and the Extra Ricers? Or will the veteran moves of BGSM cancel out any elbow thrown their way?

WHO TO WATCH OUT FOR

Mark Caguioa.

It is as if this story was written just for him to finish. You know? The “down one game against the recent champs in the quarterfinals, comeback and win to set up a huge seven game series with your bitter rivals” story? No one else read that one?

Well it’s because the story isn’t done yet. The Spark is still working on it. He is the only one that can finish it. And if he can finish it, I already have a great name for the book.

Manila Clasico.
