Barangay Ginebra San Miguel’s best was on display on Friday night, as the Gin Kings beat the Air 21 Express from pillar to post for a 99-76 victory that wasn’t nearly as close as the final score suggested.
The hottest team, Ginebra led by as much as 34 points on their way to their fifth straight win.
But Gin Kings coach Siot Tanquingcen played down the team’s winning run, pointing out that there is still work needed to be done.
“It’s still a long way to go,” said Tanquingcen. “Especially now na dikit-dikit pa rin kami sa standings.”
With a quick turnaround for Ginebra — the team takes on another struggling opponent, Barako Bull, on Sunday — Tanquingcen was wary about the Gin Kings’ demeanor heading into the next game.
“It depends on how a team can handle a situation coming off a blowout win. It’s human nature na mag-relax ng konti yung team,” he said.
“This is a mental battle. I hope this kind of win doesn’t get to their heads and they play with humility in the next game.”

that's right... kanina kahit lamang sila mas lalo ako kinabahan kasi may tendency sila na mag relax kapag lamang sila sa kalaban... sana mag tuloy-tuloy ang laro nila at maipanalo ulet nila ang game nila on sunday against barako bull
