Siot Tanquingcen explains Yousef Taha’s benching, high on rookie center

After Barangay Ginebra San Miguel acquired Yousef Taha for point guard Mike Cortez earlier this week, fans were looking forward to seeing how the rookie center could help address the team’s gaping hole in the middle.

Which is why team’s supporters were disappointed to see Taha ride the bench for Ginebra Friday against GlobalPort.

But coach Siot Tanquingcen said tapping Taha, a long-term project, for action while he was not yet prepared was not fair for the rookie.

“It would be unfair for Taha to put him on fire right away considering the fact that he has just attended the practices for the past two days,” said Tanquingcen, who added that Taha has a role in the team’s plans down the line.

“Admittedly, we have a gaping hole in the middle, but he’s not going to be an immediate solution. Hindi pa niya alam ano rules namin sa depensa and mahirap itong makuha sa dalawang practices lang. But he’s surely somebody whom we would look at in the future.”

that's right garret_jax, dapat binigyan kahit konting pt, para magkaroon ng feel sa actual game in Ginebra uniform, palpak talaga ang coach..si elmer nga ang ganda ng nilaro, eh kung nabigyan lang siya ng pt sa past games, baka mas maganda nilaro niya...this is a piece of my thought only...thanks po kabs..

Kahit tapos na practice, tinuruan pa rin ni coach siot si taha/ellis/jensen with the help of jj and rico mambo.

Hindi naman kabs :masaya: at saka more on vets that time.. Nasa cliff na tayo kaya sino pa ba aasahan naten dba.. Dahil sa major adjustments na yun ni Siot, nabuhay ulet ang dugo ng mga tatang naten like Rudy, JJ and LA.. :naughty:
