After heated encounter, Chris Lutz says everything cool between him and Mark Caguioa

Chris Lutz and Mark Caguioa went at it in the early goings of the game between Petron Blaze and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

Neither player backed down or gave an inch.

But when the show is over, the players showed mutual respect after the heated encounter.

“We’re just two people wanting to win so bad. Both of our teams were coming off two consecutive losses and both wanted to end that skid,” Lutz told InterAKTV in an exclusive interview.

“He talked to me, I didn’t back down. We were pushing each other up.”

Second-year wingman Lutz and reigning Most Valuable Player Caguioa talked trash for most of the game as they guarded each other. At one point, Caguioa seemed to get into Lutz’s head, drawing a technical foul from the Petron star who gave him a shove.

But Lutz had the last laugh, scoring 18 points in Petron’s victory.

“I like playing at that competitive level. I’m sure, Mark likes playing that way, too. It’s not personal. We just wanted to play at a competitive level, trying to fire up our respective teams.”

Caguioa led the way for the Gin Kings with 23 points, but he failed to get the job done for his squad.

When the game ended, so did the animosity between the two players.

“Mark is a true sportsman. He came to me after the game and told me to continue playing at that competitive level,” said Lutz.

tsk,,nagkaron pala ng engkwentro kanina kay MC47&Lutz ,,tpos sya pa lumapit pala kay Lutz,,thats MC47 for you,,bigay lang ang best every game kahit sinu pa ang katapat,.,sayang lang at kahit ngayon na madami tayong magagaling na players na e parang kulang padin sa suporta not like nung prime pa ni JJ din na unstoppable sila,,sabagay,maaga pa naman ang conference,,NSD!!

pero natuwa ako haha kasi hindi na pala patol si mark kung trip nyang mang-asar kayang kaya nya pa hehe.. basta champion ang ginebra, hindi man standings :) sabi nga sa rap ng aktv center kanina...

nag iinit pa rin talaga ulo ko kay Lutz na yan... ang kapal!

laki na talaga ng mi-nature ni MC47 sa game & sa attitude nya,,sana talaga e bago sila magretire ni JJ e MAKA-GRANDSLAM pa tayo,nyahaha!!
