Mark Caguioa? Ay, sorry. Hindi daw pwede, eh.

Bakit? Kasi..

Hindi ba pwedeng, at least, putting up big numbers for his team muna?

Wait. Tennis ba ito? Chess ba ito? Basketball is a team sport, sabi ng tito ko. So sa tingin ko, bringing your team to the finals doesn’t equate to the fact that you deserve to win the MVP award.

3. Hindi niya deserve manalo this year according to the criteria, may mas deserving.

Leche, kung hindi nameet ni Caguioa ang mga criteria to win that MVP trophy, eh then by all means, ibigay niyo sa iba.

Hindi ako rabid hoop junkie. I won’t put up stats and numbers here. Kung yun ang peg mo, close the tab agad.

Alam kong hindi sentiments and emotions ang basehan ng MVP, pero blog ko ‘to kaya ‘wag kang epal.

“It’s about time.”

Putragis. Ilang taon na yang “it’s about time” na ‘yan.

Caguioa’s name has been tossed and thrown in MVP conversations most, if not all the time.

Kesyo, basta. Laging may something sila ate’t kuya.

Caguioa deserves that fucking MVP award just because he does.

Walang kwenta?

But he seriously does deserve it.

Not just because of the numbers he has put up.

Not just because of his stellar plays.

Not just because of his evolution as the team leader.

He deserves to win the MVP award because he’s the rallying point of hundreds of thousands of Ginebra faithful.

Punyeta.

He’s the basketball player that has been carrying the heavy load of shit, called Ginebra fandom, on his shoulders for several years now.

But he takes everything in stride. With protective goggles pa.

Napakaraming dahilan as to why he should win the MVP award.

Breadwinner.

But above all, naks, he’s still fighting.

He’s still giving his everything.

Knee injury? Eh di ipa-opera mo.

Dumudugong mata? Eh di mag-protective goggles ka.

Bwisit lahat ng fans ng kalaban mo? Eh di asarin mo rin sila.

Alam ko hindi kayang manalo ni Caguioa based on sentiments and emotions.

Pero ito lang masasabi ko..

He’s still giving everything he’s got on that god damn court.

A decade and spare change, he’s still pushing.

Numerous hair style changes, he’s still running.

Several conferences, he’s still furious.
