IF there’s one word to describe Barangay Ginebra’s Governor’s Cup campaign thus far, then it has to be inconsistent.

Even Kings Coach Siot Tanquincen knows that and he wants no part of that inconsistency when his squad begins its semifinals bid.

Among the semifinalists, Ginebra is the only team yet to register a winning streak.

The Gin Kings finished a 5-4, but they’ve alternated their wins and losses and Tanquincen doesn’t like that pattern to continue in the semifinals.

“Diinan na ito. Somehow, we have to find a way to play at a consistent level,’’ said Tanquincen.

He admitted that Ginebra needs to do a lot of fixing to finally create some sort of momentum for a better chance of making the finals.

‘‘We turn the ball too much and we have a lot of mental lapses that allow our opponents to get some sort of advantage. Madaming factors and we have to address those problems going into the semis.’’

Tanquincen knows that this time around, inconsistency is not an option if the Kings want to reach the finals.

“We cannot afford to make mental mistakes in the playoffs,’’ added Tanquincen.

Since the carried-over standings of the semifinalists are stacked, everyone has a fair shot to make it to the finals.

Meanwhile, living legend Sonny Jaworski, the man chiefly responsible for bringing the Ginebra to new heights, will have his jersey-retirement ceremony on Sunday.

hahaha! What a statement! Ikaw kaya ang di consistent sa pagtimpla ng mga players mo. Maayos na kasi guguluhin mo pa hihi.. Hindi sa lahat ng oras kailangan mong ipasok ang star players mo. I think the coaching staff first must establish his regular rotation of players.He must know his starters and off the bench players.From there,the one with a good game all night long should be in the crucial stretch of the ball game to avoid the one that he is pointing out inconsistency and mental lapses.

I think the elimination serves Tanquincen what are the Do's and Dont's for this coming semis... Who's reliable and who's consistent. What are the capabilities of his players in and out the hardcourt! sana lang wala ng experiments kasi kung gusto nya ng experiment ay magScientist nalang siya...
