CROWD favorite Ginebra has not won a title since 2007 but continues to be the pro league’s certified blockbuster king.

This was underscored anew in the PBA Commissioners Cup, with the Gin Kings involved in the seven top-grossing playing days during the single-round eliminations.

The Gin Kings, who finished second behind defending champion Talk N Text in the preliminaries and gained an automatic semis seat, saw action against sister team B-Meg, another crowd-drawer, last March 11 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum and drew the highest fan attendance this conference at 12,864.

Trailing 0-1 in their best-of-five semis showdown with the Llamados, Ginebra faced Barako Bull last March 25 in a game that lured the second-highest at 11,852 also at the Big Dome.

Ranking third was the Gin Kings’ tussle with the Tropang Texters last March 18 at the same venue that drew 10,057 paying patrons.

At fourth was the Ginebra-Petron Blaze battle last Feb. 12 with 9,012 spectators at the Big Dome. In the Kings’ match against the Air21 Express last March 28, the attendance stood at 7,442 while 6,180 fans watched the Ginebra-Meralco clash last March 7.

Emerging as the highest-attended game not involving the Kings was the Llamados-Boosters showdown last Feb. 19 at the Big Dome, with 6,020 fans in attendance at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.

Yan buti nagkakalinawan at hindi yung puro haka haka sa mga ibang fans dyan na sila na daw yung mas maraming fans at sila na daw yung bagong never say die.
